41st Annual Meat Animal Sale Benefits Food Bank
The Sheboygan County Fair will host the annual Meat Animal Sale Thursday, September 1st at the Coliseum. Purchasers can enjoy dinner at 5:30 pm before the auction begins at 7:00 pm. This is the second year purchasers can donate meat to local food pantries through the Sheboygan and Plymouth Area United Way. Last year six hogs and one steer were donated, processed and distributed to Sheboygan County food pantries. Funds raised by the event go to a scholarship/education fund for those pursuing agricultural education and to livestock area improvements for the fair grounds.
The Meat Animal Sale has been able to provide many scholarships throughout the years feeding the minds of students preparing for their future in agriculture. Now, purchasers can help feed the community thorough their animal donation to local food pantries. The Meat Animal Sale will continue to impact students and our community in positive ways for years to come. For more information on attending the sale/dinner, or for event details, feel free to contact Jeff Rortvedt at (920) 946-0797.
