United Way of Plymouth and Sheboygan

Our Partners

 

The Sheboygan & Plymouth Area United Way Affiliates Group is made up of one representative (often the CEO, executive director or a local lead staff member/volunteer) from an agency whose programs are funded by the Sheboygan & Plymouth Area United Way. 

 

Affiliates Group Mission

* Provide a forum for member agencies to network and help each other.

* Provide a unified voice, as needed, for the affiliated agencies.

* Empower an active partnership between affiliates and the United Way.

* Maintain open communication between the United Way and affiliated agencies.

* Maintain representation on the Sheboygan & Plymouth Area United Way board of directors and encourage United Way board representation at affiliates meetings.

 

Affiliated Agencies

Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern WI, Inc.
Provides a warm knowledgeable voice on the phone, accurate information, face-to-face consultation and support, specialized educational opportunities and the safe return of a loved one

 

American Red Cross, Sheboygan County Chapter
A volunteer-led organization providing relief to disaster victims and helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

 

Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Sheboygan County, Inc.

An organization that enriches the lives of at-risk children through initiating and supporting safe, productive, long-term friendships with caring, responsible adult mentors.

 

Boy Scouts of America - Bay Lakes Council

A youth mentoring organization that provides comprehensive youth development programs consisting of Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing and Learning for Life/Exploring.

 

Boys and Girls Club of Sheboygan County

An organization helping youth of all backgrounds achieve their potential and attain skills for becoming responsible citizens and leaders.

 

Camp Evergreen
A traditional summer camp program from mid-June to mid-August which serves children and adults with cognitive, emotional, physical and learning disabilities.

 

Catholic Charities

A social service agency offering treatment, intervention and educational services such as: Outpatient mental health counseling, Immigration Services, Refugee Resettlement Services.

 

Children's Service Society

An organization that fosters nurturing environments for children through out-of-home care, prevention, counseling and transitional living programs.

 

Family Connections, Inc. - Reach

An organization that strives to increase the availability and accessibility of child care programs, promote recognition of child care issues, and encourage the development of quality child care services.  Family Connections supports families in need of regulated child care referrals and child care providers through professional development opportunities.

 

Family Resource Centers of Sheboygan County

An organization that builds strong families of all ages through parenting programs and child activities, family support groups, child development screenings, professional trainings, resource lending library, a place to play and learn, a coordinated coalition to build a drug-free community, a connection for military families, literacy programs for both adults and children and a home visiting program for first time parents and their babies through three years of age.

 

Family Service Association

Dedicated to helping individuals and families maintain and achieve financial stability and improve their quality of life through education, counseling, advocacy and financial management programs.

 

Foster Grandparent Program

An intergenerational program that offers those 55 and older an opportunity to serve as tutors and mentors in the school setting.  The caring and supportive relationships allow the children to grow academically, emotionally and socially, while at the same time enriching the lives of the older adult by providing purpose and fulfillment.  Income eligible adults receive a small tax-free income.

 

Girl Scouts of Manitou Council, Inc.

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls.  Their volunteers and staff are committed to the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.  Any girl from kindergarten through 12th grade can join Girl Scouts.  The Girl Scout program, what girls do in Girl Scouting, offers opportunities for girls to grow in their leadership skills, focus on interest areas such as financial literacy, healthy living, science and technology, outdoors and the environment, and develop lifelong friendships all in an all-girl setting.

 

Hmong Mutual Assistance Association

An association that helps especially minorities and refugees improve their quality of life, assists in obtaining self-sufficiency and promotes social integration while preserving dignity and traditions.

 

Lutheran Social Services- Project Youth

Supporting Healthy Families, Embracing Positive Youth Development!  Behavioral Health Services provided using a sliding fee payment scale for all ages and issues.  Older Adult services specific to AODA and elder abuse concerns.  Crisis intervention to alleviate the problems of runaway and homeless youth, reunite youth with their families, improve communication and assist youth in decision making.  24-hour access to services, free family problem solving sessions, community education and supportive listening.

 

Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County, Inc.

A group of caring community volunteers who deliver hot meals and provide valuable safety checks to those who are elderly, disabled or homebound.

 

Mental Health America

An organization that addresses all aspects of mental health by providing educational programs, information, confidential referrals, assistance with medication costs, and support groups.

 

Partners for Community Development

The Hispanic-American Information Center offers area Hispanics guidance, translation, counseling and referrals for assistance to appropriate organizations or agencies.

 

Rainbow Kids

An organization providing peer support programs for families who are grieving a significant loss due to death, divorce, separation, abandonment and community crisis events.

 

Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County, Inc.

An organization that works to prevent all forms of domestic abuse and sexual assault by educating the community and providing safety and support for all victims.

 

Salvation Army

Serving the Sheboygan community, The Salvation Army is a mission-based social service organization that strives to meet human needs.  Programs include: a homeless shelter, a free healthcare clinic, housing/rental assistance, a transitional living program, a food pantry, a day care center, character building youth programs, and classes and programs that lead people toward independence.

 

Salvation Army – Bread of Life Assistance Center (Plymouth)

An organization which strives to provide clients with essential life necessities while increasing their knowledge on how to avoid the financial shortfalls again.

 

Sheboygan Area Family Literacy Program
A program that encourages families to learn together and cultivates the value of education which will be passed along from one generation to the next.  In an attempt to break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy, the Family Literacy program provides family-friendly, integrative services to families that are low income, have an educational/vocational goal, and have at least one child under the age of 8 years at home.  Program components include:  GED/HSED or English language classes, early childhood education, parenting education, home visiting, and literacy activities.  Please call 459-6711 to set up an intake appointment or for more information.

 

Sheboygan County Interfaith Organization

Bridgeway and Beyond, a three-phase transitional living program that teaches single mothers how to provide a safe, stable, loving and nurturing environment for their families so they can move from a life of poverty and daily crisis to self-sufficiency, dignity and an improved quality of life.
